Showcase your finest fabrics in this miniature runner that lends itself to embellishments. Think “artsy” as you choose Japanese fabrics, batiks or any of today’s fashionable favorites. While the runner can be displayed flat, it looks great hung on a narrow wall space where a quilted accent would be eye catching.

The cover sample uses Daiwabo “taupeism” fabrics that are paired with Valdani hand dyed pearl cotton. Make this pleasing miniature again and again for special times in your life.

Design uses 12 fat eights for runner top, 1/4 yard 44-45" wide fabric for binding, 1/2 yard for backing.

Pattern includes directions for embellishments using silk ribbon, beads, and/or Perle cotton. Pattern originally published in 2009.

==========

Wanda's comment: Some of you know that before Graywood Designs was a knitting and yarn website with a touch of crochet, we were a quilt shop. During the ten years on Main Street as Pigeon River Mercantile & Wool Co. (big name but we were a pretty big deal in our small town), I designed patterns and block of the month programs for our customers.

Eventually that pattern line, Graywood Designs, was marketed to hundreds of other quilt shops across the US and Canada.

This little runner is one of the later designs.

Funny story. I was SO proud of how the samples turned out and very excited when the printing was elegant. Our wholesale customers responded well to the new pattern, but I got my comeuppance for being prideful when the first retail customer who bought the pattern took one look and said, "oh, I've been looking for something just like this for the back of a toilet."

All my fancy beadwork, careful embroidery, precision piecing -- and there it was. A design for a toilet. I trust that quilter enjoyed making these little runners as much as I enjoyed the design and computer development that goes into bringing a printed product to market!

Thanks again to Danielle for naming this design after Mozart's Eine kleine Nachtmusic.  I'm sure Mozart would approve of the intricacy and delicate stitching.
