Red grabs me around holiday time.
Our Christmas tree collection is centered around
bright red glass baubles and shiny strings of red beads.
I’ve always liked red sweaters and hats and scarves.
I love red geraniums and red tulips and red roses.
Red leans warm like this cardigan that’s a deep orange red.
Or red leans blue and is known as a cool color.
There’s pyrrol red, cadmium red, alizarin red.
Maybe it’s because red is the color of love.
Or because it stands out in the snow of winter.
Or maybe it's because cardinals capture our attention.
Whatever, I like red.
