One Bag Baby Blanket Project

HiKoo Simpliworsted, a blend of superwash merino wool, acrylic, and nylon knits up like butter! It is smooth. It glides through your hands and onto the needles. It is absolutely luscious yarn to work with.

Here it is in a blanket pattern called “Window Seat.” I knit the smallest size (“Baby”) and used a little less than five skeins of Simpliworsted. This color is 042 “Butter Cream.”

I’m really partial to yellows and this pale butter color is perfect for a new baby. If you are like me, you might choose dark colors for knitting. This lighter color and easy project has given me some enjoyable knitting for the evening hours when I’m less likely to concentrate. Lighter colors are just plain much easier to see at night, too.

The blanket baby size in the pattern is about 28 x 32 inches. I’m anticipating that this size will be an often used car seat cover for a little one.

ONE BAG BABY BLANKET: five skeins, all of the same dye lot. Available in 10 colors. One bag makes the smallest size.

As an added thought. I like to wash and block all of my knitting projects. I did that with this blanket but had second thoughts when I considered a new mom who would probably appreciate something machine washable. So into the machines it went.

I’m happy to report that this blanket, washed and dried on delicate with a few bath towels, just got softer.

This has been a satisfying project to knit. I’m trusting that the little one who will be snuggled in my Butter Cream blankie will be warm and cozy and loved.

Happy knitting!
