Hitchhiker Shawl/Scarf in Zauberball

IMG_5845I got caught on starting a Hitchhiker Scarf last weekend and decided that it will be perfect for knitting while watching my favorite holiday movies. Think “White Christmas,” “Holiday Inn,” and “Polar Express,” all accented with a liberal dose of relaxing knitting.

Hitchhiker is knit in garter stitch, shaped as an oblong shawl and has a picot tooth edge. It’s easy and clever and compelling knitting. Over 25,000 projects are recorded on Ravelry, so lots of knitters are enjoying this design.

The pattern is available as a download, so you load in your credit card info and have the pattern in no time.

I’m using a US #5 AddiClick lace tip needle and Crazy Zauberball in Color 1702 Papillion to make the shawl. The gradual shape of Hitchhiker shows off the wonderful ever-changing gradient in Zauberball so artfully.

This is Color 2095 Indisch Red which would be another great color for Hitchhiker.

Or try Color 1701 Parrot for more gradient color change.
