Crochet fans rejoice! Woodi is a yarn you’ll love to make up into baskets, market bags and more! AND we are sponsoring another Crochet Along Together that uses this yarn.
Woodi is featured in the March 2018 CAT (Crochet Along Together). Follow the Springtime Basket CAT on Ravelry with Mandobug. The CAT begins on Thursday, March 1. Amanda Mannas is the talented designer who is hosting this CAT.
Be sure to sign up for our emails and follow Graywood Knits on Facebook to be a part of the CAT. Our resident crochet expert, Tamie, will be on Facebook, telling you all about her adventures as she crochets the Springtime Basket.
We ordered lots of all the Woodi colors. You need 3 hanks of main color and 2 of contrasting color, so get your order in ASAP and join in on the Crochet Along.
Content: 53% Abaca Pulp, 47% Cotton
Needle size/gauge: approximately 3-4 stitches per inch on US#7-8 (4.5-5.0 mm)
Skein size: 60 yards per 50 gram hank
Remember that HiKoo recommends winding Woodi for best results. We suggest hand winding.
All of the colors are named for trees which is really appropriate since over 50% of this yarn is abaca pulp that is extracted from the leaf stems of the abaca plant, a close relative of the banana plant. (Wanda’s side note: I’m always impressed by how the fibers that we use to knit and crochet are essentially agricultural products — cotton from plants, wool from sheep, mohair from goats, bamboo from shrubs — you get the picture!)
We hope you can join the Crochet Along Together! Get those Woodi orders in NOW and remember that we ship on Tuesdays via US Priority Mail, so you will have your order within a few days.
