Hey, Sister Act cast and crew!
Have we got a deal for you! Send us $15 and we will supply you with a customized (well, sort of — we pick the yarn and colors) kit for you to knit a scarf or a hat or slippers. Sorry. No choices, but excellent quality yarn and needles. That we can assure you of.
We combed through our Bin yarns (discontinued colors, odd dyelots, but top quality yarn) and other leftovers to put together a project for each of you. We are trying to send no more than 200 grams (7 oz) of yarn because we know that you have weight restrictions to meet.
Everybody gets suggested pattern, needles, yarn, and a needle gauge, stitch markers. Needles will be Clover bamboo or Addi Turbos. We know that you can switch needles when you get to your destination, but we are trying to get you set up to knit as you travel.
Tyler — Cushy Checked Slippers pattern, 4 skeins sport weight in blue & magenta tweed, circular bamboo needles in US #6 and US #7. (Gotta print off this pattern and try these! They are funk-EE!)
Harry — Barley Hat pattern, 1 skein variegated brown worsted, 2 skeins deep teal tweed worsted, 16″ circulars in US #6 and 8, double pointed needles US #8. Enough yarn for 2 hats. (I knit my first Barley in gray wool. Next one will be red, to go with red leather gloves.)
Jarred (Did I spell your name correctly?) — Easy Ribbed Scarf pattern, 4 skeins, 16″ Addi circular US #7. (There are very few one row, reversible sided stitch patterns in knitting. This is one.)
Denzel — Turn A Square hat with 1 skein sock doubled and wound for stripes, 2 skeins worsted, 2 circulars, double pointed needles. (I have knit 10 of these. Love this pattern. Make it longer if you want to pull it over your ears.)
Will — Headband and Neck Gaiter patterns, 1 skein worsted (neck gaiter), 6 little balls (headbands, stripes), double pointed needles, circular needle. (Headband design has built in I-cord. Very cool and easy to do knitting trick. I-cord is like a tubular edging.)
Olivia — Tayberry Hat pattern, 2 skeins DK weight for hat, 2 circulars. The bottom ribbing is easy to do. If you get discouraged with the star stitch in the upper part, rip it back and just do ribbing. (I’m almost done with one of these. The star stitch takes time. Don’t get discouraged as this is a nice slouchy, knitty look.)
We added a Knitcushion pattern to each kit. Kind of a fun little thingie to knit — think 4-H project from years ago!
Use the Coupon Code FREESHIP when you place your order so that your order ships free. The kits are all made up and ready to go Priority Mail ASAP. Be sure to give us a street address for best USPS service.
Enjoy! I had fun making up your kits and wish you all safe travel.
